Obviously you're curious on how this little predicament we have going on in Death City started, what with two very different realities combining.

I'm sure some of you remember that the barrier between Demon World and Human World is gone, leaving the gateway wide open. Well, far in the Demon World, in areas uncharted thus far by Spirit World, there is a group. This group discovered an artifact that had been lost for a millennium or longer - it does always seem to start with some artifact doesn't it? - that showed a pathway to an alternate world. In this world they saw Death City Marketplace, teeming with life and easy meals.

Despite the rule enforced by Enki during his time as King, there are still demons in the far countries that feast upon human flesh. It will forever remain as a delicacy to many demons.

Alas, I'm getting a bit off track aren't I?

This group found a way to increase the power of the artifact, enough to make a doorway stable enough to send hordes of demons through. The thing is though... it didn't stay stable. Instead the artifact warped itself and brought the two realities crashing into each other.

And the hub of all the activity is right in the middle of Death City.
